This is a hot question when it comes to Nests. In most cases, Nest thermostats can get enough power from your system’s heating and cooling wires and don’t require a C-wire. But in a small number of situations you may need to connect a C-wire to deliver consistent power to your thermostat. During installation, the app will tell you if you need to connect a C-wire.

The Google Nest Thermostat was designed for your comfort, convenience, and home energy savings. Below is some info on Nest’s handy features. Learn more about them, how to use them, and how to maximize savings.
Nest Thermostats don’t have a touch screen. Use the touch bar on the right side to control your thermostat. Swipe up to raise the temperature, swipe down to lower it, and tap to confirm. The display will show you how many minutes until your desired temperature is reached.
Nest is motion-sensitive and will turn on when you walk by it. You can also tap the right side of it to turn it on. When your display is on, you can see your actual and targeted temperature as well as the mode it’s using. The video below explains how to adjust the temperature and mode settings on your Nest.
