What is ConnectedSolutions?

Earn rewards by enrolling your thermostat and reducing energy use during peak demand. ConnectedSolutions is the Eversource smart thermostat active demand response program. It rewards you for allowing small, automatic temperature adjustments during peak energy events. These brief changes help ease the load on the electric grid while keeping you comfortable. On this page, you’ll learn how the program works, why it matters, and how to enroll to start earning rewards.

Benefits of Participating in ConnectedSolutions

By enrolling an eligible smart thermostat in Eversource ConnectedSolutions, you help reduce demand on the electric grid and get rewarded for it.

• Earn $50 for enrolling an eligible smart thermostat ($100 if you are an income eligible customer)
• Receive an additional $20 per device each year you stay enrolled and participate

How It Works

When you join ConnectedSolutions, you allow Eversource to make small, temporary adjustments to your smart thermostat during peak energy events between June 1 and September 30.

Here’s What to Expect:

•  Your thermostat may precool your home before an event
• During the event, your thermostat will adjust by up to 4°F higher than your usual setting
• There are usually between 10 and 20 adjustments per summer season, each lasting no more than three hours
• You can always opt out of any event by manually adjusting your thermostat 

Your participation in ConnectedSolutions helps reduce the overall demand on the electric grid, especially on hot summer days, when electricity use is at its highest.

Who is Eligible?

ConnectedSolutions is available to Eversource residential electric customers. To participate, you must:

• Have a central air conditioning system or central heat pump (either ducted or ductless)
• Connect your eligible smart thermostat to that system
• Window A/C units and standalone heating systems are ineligible 

Supported Smart Thermostats and Where to Buy Them

Many leading thermostat brands are compatible with ConnectedSolutions, including:

• Copeland Sensi
• ecobee
• Google Nest
• Honeywell
• Lux
• Amazon Smart Thermostat
• Vivint/Alarm.com

You can purchase supported smart thermostats directly from the Eversource Savings Center or at most major retailers (in-store or online).

How to Enroll

Enrolling is quick and easy. If you already own an eligible smart thermostat, you may have received a prompt from your thermostat app to join the ConnectedSolutions program. You can also enroll directly by visiting ThermostatRewards.com/eversource.
